How does Henry Clerval help after Victors ordeal begins?

When the frankenstein family moves to the country, what effect does the move have on Victor? How does this reflect a romantic perspective?

In chap 5, victor quotes lines from the rime of the ancient mariner. Why?

  1. Henry Clerval tries to cheer Victor up and nurses him back to health from his fever.

Victor's health and mood improve. This reflects the romantic belief that humans should live in harmony with nature and try to remain, as much as possible, in a natural state, from which they are parted by life in society.

Coleridge's poem is about the end of innocence, hence the reason why it is quoted by Mary Shelley. In both the poem and the novel, it is caused by the sight of a scary creature, the albatross in the poem and Frankenstein's creature in the novel.

  2. Asking people on Yahoo to do your homework for you is not a good idea. Read the book, it's really quite good.
