  1. @Catherine: One small correction to your answer: It is "Frankurt am Main", but "Frankfurt an der Oder". See, German rivers have genders, and the Main (der Main) is male, and the Oder (die Oder) is female. Don't ask for the logic in that...

Frankfurt/Main is Germany's international airport hub, located in western Germany, and that's where there's some customs officer who regularly kills the cases of CDs I order from amazon US with his "customs cleared" stamp.

Frankfurt/Oder is a town not NEAR, but AT the Polish border in eastern Germany. You actually just have to cross a bridge and are in Poland. The Oder separates the two countries.

  2. Bist du jetzt unter die Fragenden gegangen?

  3. They're both rivers in Germany.

  4. There are 2 Frankfurt's.  One nearer to Poland (Oder- as in the river that it is on) and Main, which is the big city (where the airport is).  Oh, and the Main is also a river, hence the names "Frankfurt am Main" and "Frankfurt am Oder".
