Frankfurt to Munich to Venice?

What is the best train ticket to buy. We are travelling from Frankfurt to Munich to Venice and will be stopping off for a day in Munich. Can we buy a ticket that is valid over a number of days or unlimited travel. will it be a german company operating to venice.?

  1. If you are travelling from N.A - and you plan on doing more travel - look into Eurail train passes..

    Eurail Pass Select would be good for 3 bordering countries or you can purchase Eurail Select Pass Saver, for 2 or more people travelling together...check the website for the different options available.

    sample times/trains:

    Frankfurt to München is a 5 hr ride on the Intercity/Eurocity trains (ICE trains are the high speed trains, more expensive, but faster).

    München to Venice - definitely look at an overnight train since this is an 8hr ride. This is operated by the Eurocity line which serves neighbouring countries.

    Deutsche Bahn's website is an excellent source to look at options, schedules and sometimes may provide prices in euro's.
