Frankie Dettori, a failed career after the termination from Godolphin string?
With the end of the 2012 season came an end to many careers, some had a pleasant note to them while the other were not really eventful. The careers of the flat super star, Frankel, and the heart beat of the National Hunt racing, Kauto Star, came to an end.
The top miler of the world, Frankel, is to embark his stud duty in 2013, but no such news has flashed such headlines about Kauto Star.
Another celebrity figure in the horse racing industry who is seeking out for a fresh start in the new season, 2013, is the ace jockey, Frankie Dettori. No one to date has been able to win an entire card at Ascot or for that sake at any other race course.
Frankie Dettori won all the seven races on the card at Ascot in 1996.
He has secured the champion jockey’s title three times and has enjoyed being the prime jockey with the Godolphin string for eighteen years. The termination of the association came more like a bad luck for the Italian jockey who has now been banned for six
months by the France Galop after he failed to pass the test for one of the substances that are prohibited while racing.
His career down fall began when he failed to accommodate with the young jockeys who were brought in by the racing manager at Godolphin racing. Mickael Barzalona and Christophe Soumillon were inducted as the young talent for the Godolphin string.
The champion jockey could not take it for long that some of the most important rides were being taken away from him and that he had to share his cake with the riders who really did not share his calibre.
The final blow came in when he rode the Aidan O’Brien trained, Camelot, in the Arc and could not even finish decently. The partnership was called off soon after the race and ever since then the jockey has been struggling for stability.
The jockey resorted to serve as a free lance rider ever since the royal blue banner broke off with him, but aiding mutual interest, both have decided on working together from time to time without the retention of Frankie Dettori.
The dust had not even settled properly when the headlines of the failed drug test started flowing in.
