Frankie Dettori takes a ride on Ihsas and Punita but claims preference over the latter
If we talk about Frankie’s and Godolphin’s big day at Lingfield, that would be attributed to Ihsas, a full sister to Rio De La Plata and compatibly bred Punita who made a 100% strike rate possible.
Both the new entrants were awarded the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes. Punita’s performance did leave an impact on Frankie Dettori, her origin goes back to an American family.
The major reason behind the preference will have to be the bold route that Punita under took in order to make it to the finish line as opposed to Saeed bin Suroor’s Ihsas who opted for a more secure path and managed scoring by three and a half lengths. Frankie

"Rio's one of my favourites, and she (Ihsas) is certainly smaller. It was a bad race, but she did it well. She's got a long way to go. I thought Punita felt the stronger and it looked like the better maiden. She was very professional”.

He has known horses since he was hardly thirteen and for him it was not books or playgrounds but horses and apprentice ship with famous jockeys.
He was the first teenager since Lester Piggott to ride 100 winners in one season in the year 1990.
Later in 1996 he achieved the feat of winning all seven races on a single day at Ascot Racecourse.
Frankie has had experience with these two horses from Godolphin but there are many more outstanding stars such as Princess Of Orange with jokey Ted Durcan turned out to be remarkable at the Polytrack.
The trainer, Rae Guest, is highly hopeful for some radical improvement which he is sure the horse will display in almost no time.
With such versatile horses, all the connections feel confident and uplifted about bright future prospects.
