Frankie Edgar: I just want to nail Ben Henderson – UFC News
Frankie Edgar, the former UFC lightweight champion, in a recent interview shared his thoughts about the upcoming clash with Ben Henderson and commented that he just wants to avenge his loss and has no care about whether the title is on the line or not adding
that he just wants to come out of the octagon victorious.
Frankie and Ben will headline Ultimate Fighting Championship’s ‘UFC 150’ pay-per-view. Ben will defend his title for the very first time and against the man from he took it in the first place that is Edgar.
The octagon for the event will be set up at Pepsi Center situated in Denver, Colorado, United States and the fight card will be co-headlined by the non-title middleweight bout between Jake Shields and Ed Herman.
The show will be televised live on August 11, 2012 and will definitely witness an epic clash between two of the best lightweights in UFC. Frankie has been eyeballing Ben vigorously since his last dismal loss.
Edgar, 30, while sharing his thoughts stated, “Title on the line or no title on the line, I want to win my fight. It adds a little more motivation (to have a shot to get the belt back), but I'm still going to have the same drive in training and when I step
in the octagon.”
Frankie, also known as ‘The Answer’, has been a major attraction in past UFC events because of his iron will and motivation to take on even the biggest names in the division.
The New Jersey proud has been in a total 17 mixed martial art bouts and boasts 14 wins. Edgar has nailed three of his opponents by knockout, another three by submission and eight by either split or unanimous decision.
While sharing his thoughts about the possible strategy and the scheduled to be followed by him and his camp in the upcoming months during the training, the young Frankie remarked, “I believe we're going to put on another exciting fight. I'm looking forward
to training for the next two months. I've become accustomed to (the rematches). We're going to make the adjustments the next couple months. But Ben's going to make his adjustments, too.”
Ben, on the other hand, has also vowed that he will defend his newly acquired gold at all costs and will not let Edgar nail him in order to take back what rightfully belongs to him. The clash will certainly be a classic one and both men will throw everything
they have in their gear.
