The former Bayern Munich defender has claimed that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 manager possesses the best ever squad and has a great chance of winning the European championship.
Legendary Bayern Munich defender, Franz Beckenbauer, reckons that the current German team is one of the best. He was talking ahead of this year’s Euro championship in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 where the Die Mannschaft have been placed
in Group B alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753.
Beckenbauer mentioned that Joachim Low is lucky to have such a talented squad at his disposal. He mused that this German side must be able to win the upcoming competition. The defender, who himself won the same competition in 1972,
admitted that the current bunch of players are one of the best, comparing them with the Euro and World Cup winning German teams of 1972 and 1990.
While talking to sporting publication, Bild, the 66-year-old further added: "We have always had a high level of quality in the national team squad. But Jogi, he now has the best squad of all time. He has 23 players at the top level
and we have never had that before."
The World Cup winning manager also showered praise on current tactician for reigniting the lost passion in the national side. He enthused that Low has done extremely well to form the best possible squad which seems extremely hard
to beat even for the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and the Dutch.
"There was a glitch in our development during which our national team lost respect abroad. But Jogi has succeeded in restoring our reputation with a cultured brand of football meshed with our own traditional virtues," Beckenbauer
added.
On the other hand, Beckenbauer predicted a tough championship and predicted that Germany and Spain will contest the final. He claimed that the reigning European champions will not find it easy to retain their crown in front of
a settled German unit who lost to the same side four years back in the final.
"The Spanish are still hungry and it should be a final between Germany and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 - but then we win," the former West Germany international concluded.
Germany will open their Euro campaign with the game against Portugal on June 9 in Lviv.
