Boas' ideas were widely accepted among social scientists, but did not receive great acceptance outside of the ivory tower.  Since his points of view did not easily lend themselves to hypothesis testing and empirical study, they have not been widely applied or evaluated outside of anthropology.

    In 1911, Jason!! Very ideological of you to protect Franz Boas, who is very passe.

  3. Boas was the man in his time.  That is why he made it into 101 textbooks.  I believe his ideas were accepted pretty widely.
