Franz Tost: Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel is one of a kind – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso’s team principal Franz Tost recently claimed that Sebastian Vettel is one of a kind and there cannot be any other driver like him in Formula 1.
“Sebastian came to us with quite a bit of F1 experience, so he was not the complete newcomer. He'd been a test driver with BMW-Sauber and had already done a race where he'd got his first point. Then he came to us with a rather unusual level of experience
for a Toro Rosso driver, and that showed in his first full season when he won the Italian Grand Prix,” he told the media.
Vettel used to drive for Toro Rosso during his early years in the sport and back then, he proved that he has the capability of scoring amazing results even if he does not have a very strong car by his side.
The reigning world champion secured a race win with Toro Rosso back in 2008 which was quite amazing since the team was considered as a lower mid-running team of the sport. He secured the pole position in order to take the advantage and after that, the young
German became a part of the Red Bull Racing team.
“There will never be another Sebastian Vettel, just as there will never be another Michael Schumacher or Ayrton Senna,” said the team principal of Toro Rosso.
He added that Vettel could have scored some amazing results even during his early years but due to the fact that he did not even discover his own talent back then, he did not push himself to the limit as he is doing now.
He won the 2010 Formula 1 world championship to become the youngest champion in the history of the sport. Before him, it was Lewis Hamilton who was the youngest champion of Formula 1 and one has to admit, Vettel had to fight through a very tough grid in
order to secure his championship as drivers like Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and Mark Webber were at the top of their game during 2010.
