Franz Tost says Toro Rosso drivers Buemi and Alguersuari are doing a good job – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso principal Franz Tost has admitted that both of their drivers Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari are doing a good job for the team in the 2011 Formula 1 season.
He stated that both of them are moving forward and trying to make improvements in terms of performance race-by-race in the ongoing season.
The team drivers Buemi and Alguersuari seem to be in a good form in the last race of the season held in Hungary. Both of the drivers were in the points and successfully finished their race for the team at the Hungaroring race circuit as well.
Tost said, “There is no testing anymore, so a driver who has made it into F1 faces a completely new world. At best he knows all the European tracks from GP2, but Formula One is so different to anything he's ever experienced.”
Apart from that, the team principal mentioned that he is not yet thinking about Toro Rosso’s 2012 drivers’ line-up, because at the moment he wants to just focus on their both of their drivers’ performance until the end of the season. After that, he will
take the final decision about it.
Tost commented, “I am also really looking forward working together with the other Red Bull youngsters, Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne. Both have done the young drivers' days with Toro Rosso last year in Abu Dhabi and Daniel was our third man before
he got the opportunity to race for HRT.”
The Italian-based outfit principal discussed with the media that Toro Rosso’s sixth place in the 2011 constructors’ championship was possible at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Force India driver Paul di Resta was faster as compared to them and due to that, Toro
Rosso lost his position to them in Budapest.
Toro Rosso are sitting at the eighth place ahead of Williams in the 2011 constructors’ championship with 22 points at the moment.
