  1. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether he plays or not, he's great motivation for the Wings to step up their game and win.

  2. Yeah he was cleared, but he's not playing in game 1, i doubt he'll be playing in game 2 either. But of course i'm happy he's back, he's been a huge asset to the Wings in the playoffs. All i care about right now is just having him healthy. But the thing is, Idk  how good he'll come back. Will he be the same? Before Franzen left he was nothing but fire, but a break could do anything but fan the fire, so idk. Lets just hope he comes back strong. Its kind of like Cleary, His effort is always 110% when he hits the Ice, but ever since he's been injured he just hasn't been the same.

  3. Johan Franzen is doubtful for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Saturday.

Franzen is suffering from post-concussion symptoms that caused him to miss the last five games of the playoffs. He skated on Wednesday but has not been given the ok by doctors for complete activity. The Red Wings are hopeful that Franzen can return at some time during the finals, but that is highly questionable.

^he'll probably come back games 3-4...i highly doubt he'll still be hot so the pens should focus on the wings top line.

  4. whether or not he plays, he will be missed. He has been showing finally, what the Wings saw in him when the drafted him. Hopefully if he gets in, he will remain healthy, and contribute the best he can. 2 weeks is a while to be sitting, and to fall back into the streak he was having is very doubtful.

  5. They should be worried.Franzen had been the Red Wings diffrence maker through all of the playoffs.

  6. ima wings fan thnk god he is back we missed him

  8. He is NOT cleared to play yet.  He won't be able to for 3-6 months.  Swelling on the brain.  :(  Hope he gets better soon.

I have a family member that works with the Wings Dr. son and that is what he reported back.  Not sure on the accuracy but even if things are that bad they (Dr.'s to the media) won't indicate anything more than headaches.  I hope and pray that I am wrong and he will be back very soon.  I just don't want him to hurry and come back if he's not 100%.  Being cleared to practice and being cleared to PLAY for the finals are TOTALLY different.

  9. Nah, he is harmless.  He is a player with a ton of hype that won't do jack against the Pens, just like Umberger.

  10. Cleared to play.  Will practice for the first time tomorrow but the team says he's doubtful for Game 1.  If the Wings win at least one in Det, my feeling is we won't see him until game 4.

  11. Well he was cleared to practice, but Holland said he doesnt know when he will actually be able to play a game and said he doubts he will be in for game 1.  On top of that, its not like Franzen has been a powerhouse for a long time, he was just on a VERY good hot streak.  He just skated for the 1st time in almost 2 weeks.  I doubt he will be playing like he was.  Thats a lot of time to cool down.  The same thing happened earlier this year.  He was Detroits top performer in the pre season but then got injured and pretty much disappeared until March.

MardiGirl70:  Where did you get your info from?  I have to assume your mistaken because I have not heard anything even remotely similar to that.  Heres a quote from Babcock from today:

"He's going to be available,'' Babcock said. "I don't know at what point. I don't think in Game 1, but at (some point) after that.''

He added: "He's ready to go. He's just got to get the OK (from doctors).''

  12. Nope.  The coaches have NOT approved Franzen to play, but he is practicing.
