Fraser Gehrig placed on the long term injury list! Do you believe that he is injured?

“chronic arthritic condition in his hands”.

That's what the club said when it placed him on the long term injury list. If one believes that they believe anything. This way St Kilda can promote one of their rookies to take his place. They've done this rather than admit they made a mistake when re-drafting him this season after his retirement.

  1. I think that is very interesting, especially given the recent discussions about his "form".

  2. yeah i think he is, he didnt move well at all vs Collingwood, i think he has a bad hip, plus has very bad hands

  3. no, he has cronic arthritis in his hands  seems to play better indoors at telstra than outside, that's what I noticed

  4. yes have you seen his hands

    they are stuffed

  5. he is not moving like himself, something is not right. I hope he comes back in 8 weeks and kicks some goals before he retires again.

  6. I think he is injured

You are right that if he was placed on the long term injury list then St Kilda can move a rookie up the ranks

This is to atone for the mistake to re-draft him.

  7. YES!!

If you noticed in the match vsCollingwood (16/5/2008)...

whenever the ball fell short of Gehrig he didn't even make an effort to even pick the ball up!! If that's not a sign of some sort of problem with his hands, then I don't know what is!

I think it was a mistake to re-draft Gehrig, but a worthy risk nonetheless. This question has been asked and answered though...

...and it's a good idea from the saints to place him on the long-term injury list to promote a rookie :D Go Saints!

  8. Yeah - actually he is.  I'm related to him  fairly distantly and I heard through another cousin that he is really stuffed and struggling to keep the fire going as a result.  So the hands and the motivation ... along with arthritis in every joint, a buggered neck, dodgy legs etc etc.  I'm quite comfortable that he's stuffed.

Yeah he and the club probably made a mistake.  The mind was willing but the body wasn't.  I feel for the big boofhead.

  9. if he is injured he has carried it since he was redrafted and the saints and him both knew it. i think fraser missed his footy paycheck, and the saints recruiting and footy department are stupid for redrafting him. he looked average last year when playing and injuries plagued him then. retirement was what he should of stuck too. this incident has put the saints as a team back 12 months in footy. when fraser collapsing in a heap was on the cards as soon as he said i want to play another year. i think he injured but dont think he should be allowed on long term injury list when he came into the season carrying these injuries knowing he might not play the year out.

in the end it the saints mistake. and now they trying to fix it .

  10. No, I dont think its a conspiracy nor a mistake.  He has arthritis in his hands and a bad hip, but I guess the team and Gehrig thought he could overcome it and play good footy.

He should have bowed out gracefully last year instead of stringing out another year that will see him out for most of the year :(

  11. Nah.

Just a way to cover up a silly decision to redraft him - now they can get someone to replace him.

Poor Fraser should have been treated better that that.

  12. Yes.

His hands, which were once his best asset are stuffed.

His hip doesn't look right at all.

Smart by Saints though, who can now promote a rookie

  13. HAHA...

Fraser Gherig is an official JOKE

all tha saints r doiin is tryin to cover up there mistake of using a perfectly good draft pick on himm

    STUPID SAINTS :P
