I sold some concert ticket for my friend on ebay, it turns out the tickets she gave me to sell were fake and i now have to appear in court, anyone have any idea of what i will expect to get from the judge, it is my first offence..

  1. YOu can expect a fine (reliatively small I would imagine) and probably have no conviction recorded. But I would get some legal advice if I were you.


  2. First off, did you actually have possession of the tickets? Did you look over them to verify their validity? Your "friend" should actually be involved with you. Being you didn't mention it, I am assuming she isn't. It is kind of like being charged with possession of stolen property if you are totally unaware of it being stolen. There is no definite answer to your question without knowing all the details and facts. Like it or not, your "friend" should be the one going to court. The judge can assume you knew they were fake. How can you prove you didn't know? Without any kind of proof and admittance from your "friend", looks like you are taking the fall for her. You have to prove you didn't know they were fake. If you state you never saw them before listing them, the judge can say why did you list something you didn't actually see or have possession of. Either way, without your "friend" admitting to guilt of their own and you unknowingly selling fake items, you are pretty much at the mercy of the court. Sorry to tell you.
