(Fraud??)How to make sure that the e-ticket issued by a travel agent is valid?

I wrote them a check but i don't have any receipts from them.

I asked them to send me the e-ticket when ready last week.

But up to today, they still haven't sent me the e-ticket but keep on introducing tickets from other airlines saying it can cost me 50 dollars cheaper.

However, I checked the price online and I found that the flight I told them to book was a few hundreds more expensive than the flights they are suggesting now.

I afraid they will make me a fraud e-ticket and I have no evidence of paying this?( i did write a check ? is that counted as evidence?)

  1. They should have issued the e-ticket immediately.  E-tickets in general take 10-15 minutes to issue maximum.

    I suspect the agency may have made an error in booking and does not want to own up to it, hence the other offers.

    Your cancelled check is your receipt.  Once issued the e-ticket, it will have a Record Locator on it.  You can contact the airline directly to verify it, or usually verify via web site.


  2. why don't you trust your agent??  your check is your receipt.  contact the agent if you need documentation.
