Freaking out over high school PLEASE HELP????????

Question

I will be starting High School in a week and I must admit I am very scared. For one, I haven't been to school in over a year because I didn't go to the 8th grade because I was very sick and like in the hospital, and like I know I won't be behind because I know what my curriculum will be like I will be doing geometry and I've done algebra one and even geometry already but like I'm wondering how hard it will be to get back into the "groove" so to speak. I was also wondering how hard high school is, what people wear and act like, and how to mange time. Also, I am going to be in the IB program so how hard is that, I mean even though I've already done like geometry and world history I will probably be doing a lot of stuff I haven't done and like since I haven't done home work in a year how hard will that be to get back into. Thnx

trust me high school is very easy. i'm a junior now and the previous years have been very easy. so don't freak out. i was scared too at the beginning, but i found out it was nothing to be freaked out about.just be nice and make friends so you won't be lonely

Freshmen year is the easiest grade in the high school. So its a good year for you to get back into your groove. Just study and stay on top of your work and you should have no problems! (:

I was in the IB program, and I will tell you that it's actually quite hard--but  if you do the homework and pay attention, you will be fine. The kids that stay in IB for all four years are the people who take two hours a night to seriously study. high school overall is not nearly as daunting as it is initially--people are pretty similar to the way they are in middle school, just older. Girls wear makeup, boys play football. Believe me, high school is actually a very fun experience. You'll do great. And don't stress about IB--if you decide it isn't for you, you can drop out after a year. I went freshman year and dropped out before sophomore, and the rest of my classes have been no sweat because of how intense IB was. So don't worry, just look forward to it. :)
