Freaky!?!?

Question

every night at about 1 am i hear a train horn and it going on train tracks. scary thing is there are no trains are anything there is only an old abounded train track that no one has used for years. What is the sound im hearing?

So its the train, I hear trains in my city from the metro-station at night from a great distance all the time.

Consider yourself lucky....I live 6 houses away from train tracks and get woken up almost nightly ....and trust me, they are loud!

If weather conditions are right you may just be hearing a train in the next town.

it might've been a train.  i hear train horns sometimes in the middle of the night but the nearest tracks are three miles away.

its probably in your head....you and your boyfriend have heard the trains on a regular basis...that it can sometimes be in your heads and you "hear" the trains but there really isnt any....being around something long enough can become a subconcious thing that seems real

this is not a "make fun" comment....im just saying what might be a reason...i dont have an "exact" answer, but this is just what i think cuz it is a possibility

There must be some kind of logical explanation. Don't be afraid,if it is something out of the paranormal seems pretty harmless,maybe there was a train in that area a long time ago. Check out the history of the area and what it was like in the past.

If two people hear something independent of each other then chances are it's something in the real world.  Finding out exactly what something it might be is up to you.  I would think your curiosity would prompt you to investigate rather than entertain the possibility it's paranormal in nature.  Let your thirst for knowledge drive your investigation.

IT SEEMS THAT THE TRAIN MUST HAVE HAD PASSED NEARBY AS U STATED, SINCE AT EVENINGS THE LEVEL OF SOUND/NOISE IS CONSIDERABLY LOW IN COMPARISION WITH THAT OF DAY, AND ON THE OTHER HAND I FEEL UR TOO GOOD AT IMAGINATION!!!!!!!, U MIGHT BE IMAGINING ABOUT A WEIRD SITUATION, I SUGGEST U TO TAKE OUT THE IMAGINATION AND CONVERT IT TO SOMETHING ELSE AS A CHIME, U WL BE ASTONISHED THAT UWL BE SUCCESSFUL IN DOING SO

Sound can travel quite a distance.Train horns are designed to be loud warnings.Why don't you get up and check it out?

Although I've experienced some paranormal things, I've also been surprised by the ordinary. The nearest train tracks to my house are 12 miles away behind a bank of low hills. When things are just right I can sometimes hear the faint rumbling, clacking sound of a freight, horn and all, even though I don't think I should. I don't live in a valley that might channel the sound; the waves should go up and away, with the curvature of the Earth blocking even more. 12 miles of air SHOULD blank out any sound, I would think. Life is surprising!
