Fred Couples is flying high at the PGA Tour Northern Trust Open

The Veteran golfer Fred Couples made a strong comeback in the second round at Riviera Country Club and shot a round of five-under par 66 to lead the PGA Tour Northern Trust Open in California. Couples has been suffering with a back injury since ages and
proved himself after a long time to many.   
Couples who is 51-years old and a experienced campaigner has won the US PGA Tour titles playing at the same course way back in the years 1990 and 1992. He returned back to his form to lead the tournament after many years. Couples started his day very well
with a long eagle putt on the first hole which built his momentum for the day. He also had three birdies during his bogey-free round. His total aggregate score for two rounds is eight-under par 134.  
JB Holmes of USA is currently tied for the second slot with two other players. Holmes is just two shots behind the leader and had a moderate second round of two-under par 69. John Senden of Australia is also tied at the second position with a total two rounds
aggregate score of 136. Spencer Levin did not manage to complete his second round but was two-under par after 15 holes. He will be completing the second round early morning on Saturday.
Players who started their second round late were expecting that the weather conditions will be a bit difficult as rain was threatening sometime late in the Friday afternoon.
Couples was very much pleased and happy to be the clubhouse leader after he completed his second round. Freddy in his interview with said that he was shocked to see his name on top of the leader board who has won four times on the Champions Tour last year.
This is his favorite golf course and enjoys playing here as the conditions are suitable for him.
Freddy was paired with the youngster Anthony Kim for the second round. Kim was totally surprised to see his opponent play such good shots at his age. He said that Fred felt like a youngster when he was playing some remarkable shots and his eagle start charged
him for an under-par round.
Kevin Na of USA made a move up the leader board who had a fantastic round of five-under par 66. He only had one bogey for his round and scored four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 1st hole. He showed his class and his excellent shot-making ability
on the field as he jumped a few places on top of the leader board.
There are five players who are currently tied at the 5th position with a total aggregate two round score of 137. They have a deficit of just three shots over the leader. Stuart Cink who is an experienced campaigner and finished for tied 32nd
place last year will be looking to improve his position further to lift the title. He carded a round of four-under par 67 for the second round. Ryan Moore, Trevor Immelman and Robert Allenby are also placed at the tied fifth spot. Aaron
Badley who is also at the fifth slot has yet to complete his second round as played was abandoned on the second day due to the bad light.
