Fred Couples set to tee off after 17 years -
d**k's Sporting Goods Open
Defending champion and some other famous names are set to take the field during the d**k's Sporting Goods Open. There was some good news from the En-Joie golf course.
The Tournament Director John Karedes, while talking to media, said that the defending champion John Huston will be on the field to defend his title.
Moreover, everybody in the media room was surprised to hear another interesting news. It was that Fred Couples will also be featuring in this year’s event.
Fred Couples is all set to tee off at the En-Joie golf course after 17 years.  Last time, it was in 1995 that Fred took part in the B.C Open.
Back in 1991, Fred also emerged victorious at the B.C Open. However, in 2006 B.C Open took place for the last time.
Next year, in Ohio, Fred Couples will be captaining the USA Team for the third consecutive time at the Presidents Cup.
Karedes called Fred’s agent, Lynn Roach, just few minutes before the press conference. Lynn Roach responded with good news, as he told Karedes that Fred will be featuring at this year’s d**k's Sporting Goods Open.
At the Fox Chapel Golf club, Couples will become the first player after Arnold Palmer to win the Constellation Senior Players Championship consecutively in two years.
"That is not to overshadow some of the other big, big names coming, but obviously Freddie brings that Presidents Cup, that Masters, that Boom-Boom allure that I think people are hungry to see," Karedes said of Couples' value to the d**k's Open field.
Huston has not been very well for the last few months, he said that he is still suffering from tendinitis in his elbow and hands.
However, there was no surgery. Also, there is still time before the tournament starts and hopefully, he will be ready to defend his title.
He stated, "Right now I am feeling OK, so hopefully it will get better through the next few weeks and I will be ready to go by the time this event starts".
The last time around, Huston came from two shots down on the final day, before taking the title. He shot a 7-under 65 in his last round.
