Vitesse Arnhem head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fred-c14136 Rutten, was extremely pleased with his side’s 2-0 win over Willem II Tilburg at Koning II Stadion on Sunday, August 26.
The former PSV Eindhoven boss was all praise for his troops’ impressive show away from home, but also stressed that they still need to continue working hard if they are to compete for silverware.
“It is always a good feeling to claim all three points. Yet, my side still seems to be very uneven. The most positive thing thus far I have seen in my side is that they all are willing to work extremely hard to achieve the results, and that is a good thing”,
Rutten was quoted as saying to soccernews.nl.
The Arnhem outfit commenced proceedings brightly away from home, and put immense pressure on the newly promoted Eredivisie side’s defence. However, it took the visiting side 38 minutes to break the deadlock, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 Reis found the back of the net.
Willem II tried to keep things tight, and scored the equaliser after the half-time break, but instead, they conceded another in the 82nd minute, with Reis scoring his second of the evening to seal the 2-0 win.
Rutten admitted that his side played impressive football, but they never really managed to dominate proceedings throughout the 90 minutes.
“We played well, but I think we also played very sloppy football at some stages of the game. We need to have more stability. We often have free man on the pitch, but we fail to deliver the perfect ball to him. This is something we really have to work in
the training sessions”, the Dutch mentor concluded.
