The former FC Twente defender was all praise for his side’s performance at Philips Stadion, and admitted that d**k Advocaat’s men missed plenty of goalscoring opportunities to help his side bag all three points.

The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede defender admitted that the Eindhoven giants had better goalscoring opportunities, but hailed his troops’ efforts to bag all three points at the end.
“The two teams played out an open game. PSV had the better goalscoring chances, though. PSV are attack-minded and once we were a goal down, we knew it would be a tough game for us. But we soon restored parity and from then on the game was equally matched”,
Rutten said while talking to media in the post-match press conference.
PSV started the game aggressively, and managed to break the deadlock in the fifth minute through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 Reis strike.
Both sides played attacking game, and created plenty of goalscoring opportunities. However, the two teams failed to hit the target until the half-time break. The hosts resumed action brightly in the second-half, and after putting consistent pressure on the
PSV back-line, they managed to grab the lead in the 74th minute through Wilfried Bony.
The Eindhoven giants tried their utmost to restore parity, but failed to find the back of the net until the full time whistle.

“PSV had plenty of chances to score a second and even a third goal, but in the end we netted the winning goal. This was a very big game. It had all of the ingredients for a cracking football match”, Rutten concluded.
