Thompson Speech Hits Media on Palin, Obama on Abortion

Fred Thompson will forcefully defend the selection of Sarah Palin tonight in a speech Republicans are characterizing as "red meat." He will argue that the feeding frenzy over Palin's is the result of "panic" from the Democrat-friendly mainstream media.

"What a breath of fresh air Governor Sarah Palin is. She is from a small town, with small town values, but that's not good enough for those folks who are attacking her and her family. Let's be clear, the selection of Governor Palin has the other side and their friends in the media in a state of panic. She is a courageous, successful, reformer, who is not afraid to take on the establishment."

Thompson will also criticize Barack Obama's answer on abortion from his recent appearance at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church. Warren had asked: "Now, let’s deal with abortion. 40 million abortions since Roe v. Wade. you know, as a pastor I have to deal with this all of the time. All of the pain and all of the conflicts. I know this is a very complex issue. 40 million abortions. At what point does a baby get human rights in your view?"

Obamas responded: "Well, I think that whether you are looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade."

Thompson will criticize Obama for dodging the issue: "We need a President, and Vice President, who will take the federal bureaucracy by the scruff of the neck and give it a good shaking. And we need a President who doesn't think that the protection of the unborn or a newly born baby is above his pay grade."

The bulk of Thompson's speech will be a testimonial on behalf of John McCain, his character and his leadership. John McCain has "the kind of character that civilizations from the beginning of history have sought in their leaders."

  1. I don't like McCain.  He's not 'really' running, he's there to put on the show to pretend American votes count, when the Saudis, not the Americans, own America.

McCain is pathetic, he's just there to put on a show.  Bark for us McCain!  Even if you have never been able to do anything else, and you haven't, then I guarantee you are gifted at that.

Obama is the arab appointed president of America.  He's nothing but a robot they put in office, to do what they tell him.  He is a muslim, even he admitted it.  But now that he is president elect, he has to pretend he's not.  Allah is satan, duh.  Allah is not arabic for 'god', it is arabic for 'the moon god'.  Muhammad had the moon god kill all three hundred other of the arab gods, and he became a thiest to copy the christians of the time.  Who can blame him?  Arabs had hundreds of gods.  Now they just have demons.  The main demon is allah, and the demon allah is the god of Obama.

Understand, you did not vote Obama in office, he was appointed by the Saudi Arabians who own America now.

Oh, and do muslims have nuclear weapons planted all over America now?  Is that how they beat us so easily?  I mean nukes are a dime a dozen now, and your leaders that say otherwise are liars.  Even pakistan, the most backwards arab country on earth has had nukes for decades.  And the rest of them thar arabs don't eh?  Boy, we must be as stupid as our leaders appear to believe we are.

  2. I agree with Fred Thompson. These are all my beliefs and it seems they are not the Democrats. Not Obama any way.

  3. Pro life advocates make it sound like anyone Pro life is Pro Abortion.  This is not true.  This is basically a religious ethic and it could end there.  The life that cannot support its own self is not necessarily life.  Politics should not decide this question.  It is too close to religious interpretation.  Religion is a base for all society to base laws, but in our country is not the law.  We practice more of a civil religion in the country.  It is not indoctrinated.  Religion is a basic way to civilize the people.  Every  religion is not the same.  Choice is a good way to leave this as if your religion says not to abort, then don't.  It is also your choice not to.  Is life life if it cannot sustain itself.  Is it fair to bring to life a person who can never afford the healthcare they need because the same people who are pro life often do not want to pay for the sick person in their insurance premium, but want to make the sick pay more when they can hardly work?  Torture is not fair and being ill with the healthcare in front of you but not left for you to have is torture.  Will those who push for the poor person to deal with the burden help them or send their money outside the country to help them first?  What is fair in this life?  Decisions are not always fair.  What would you do in those shoes?  What if you were raped by a family member or stranger? What is you used a condom and it slipped off?  It can happen.  Think of what you are asking.  Do you know when life begins.  Have you seen a live birth or held the hand of the dying?  When does the soul exist and God give it to a life?  These are question the best in science have no answers for.

  4. Obama's answer to Warren was a good answer.  It was basically saying "even as a President I don't think I can tell women to have a baby or not have a baby, its above my pay grade."

Of course a GOP'per would see that as negative.  A President should have the courage to force woman to carry children by threat of a prison sentence...  way to go tough guys...  Brow-beat little girls.  ooooooh, I'm scared.

I agree with him on the media, but not solely relegated to Palin's small-town background.  Even delving into her husbands affiliation with a third-party...  How is being in a 3rd party political group equal "unamerican?"  Secession is not a stated goal of the party and thusly is meaningless.  Oh, and I can think that a state would be better off out of our control and still put America first...  Its not a difficult concept.

I've long said the media does our nation a great disservice

  5. Why blame Obama? This is McCain's fault...he should have vetted the woman thoroughly
