Fred joins Melbourne Heart from D.C. United – A-League news
Former Melbourne Victory midfielder, Fred, has joined Melbourne Heart from D.C. United. The 31-year-old spent just a few months at D.C United before joining Heart for the upcoming 2011/12 season. The player was previously contacted by Melbourne Heart but

Heart finished eighth in the League table last season and Fred hoped that his new team would invest further in order to have an improved 2011/12 campaign. Head Coach John van’t Schip also expressed delight at the arrival of the former D.C. United player,
saying that the experienced campaigner would prove handful to a relatively young side.
