Freddie Freeman takes Under Armor glasses but prefers wearing Oakleys - MLB Update
Corneal abrasions had forced Freddie Freeman out from some games. With sight blurred, he was unable to make right connections and was becoming a constant disappointment in the Atlanta Braves’ line-up.
As the issue became worse, he decided to wear Oakley glasses. By this, issue with vision almost resolved and the kind of role he plays in the line-up started being fulfilled professionally.
While Oakley glasses are serving the purpose precisely, the fact the company namely Under Armor, with which he has signed contract has offered him the same type of glasses, it was expected that he will switch to new glasses.
As he clarified later that he will be using the same glasses, it has come out the comfort he has found in those glasses is not available in new ones. For Under Armor’s glasses to produce an equal level of comfort, slight modifications are required and once
those are implemented, Freeman will be wearing the new glasses.
Freeman forms an important part of the Braves’ line-up. Run-rampage that the Braves have enjoyed in the season has seen Freeman contributing all-along. As soon as his eyes grew hazy, his performance took an immediate effect and that paved way of concerns
by the management.
In an attempt to get rid of it, customised glasses were ordered and matter was resolved temporarily. It worked instantly as Freeman kept lifting the Braves in the same fashion as he had done all through the season.
His season RBIs are 35 and home-runs are eight. If he continues building on the momentum and keeps repeating great performances, it will be no surprise if he ends up grabbing enviable laurels at season end.
The Braves as a club are on the decline at the moment, as far as position on National League East Division table is concerned. In desperate need of stunners and long-winning streaks, someone who can keep their offence on surface can do wonders to their prospects.
Furthermore, the fact Chipper Jones is absent from the line-up, need for having all the hitters showing consistency is pressing. In this connection, Freeman can play a crucial role. One will hope that regardless of the kind of glasses he adopts, his performance
remains top-notch.
