Freddie Roach: I expect Bradley to be very focused when he faces Manny – Boxing News
Freddie Roach, Hall of Fame trainer and Pacquiao’s trainer, believes Timothy Bradley will come tough for Manny Pacquiao. Even though Pacquiao is 5-1 favourite for the fight, Roach believes it will not be an easy fight for both men. Timothy Bradley, who has
remained unbeaten to date, will have his career’s first ever mega-bout, and Roach expects Bradley to give it all in.
In his recent interview regarding the big match, Roach said, “I expect him to be very focused when he faces Manny. He's never been knocked down, never been KOed, and has been announcing daily what he intends to do with Manny. Well, I supposed that's his
way of promoting himself, but we'll see. Manny's in between 40 to 50 percent ready at the moment, but he'll be ready to reclaim that pound-for-pound best fighter title. To those who are saying Manny is all done, washed up, and too old, well, they're mistaken.
They based their opinion on Manny's last outing against (Juan Manuel) Marquez, but there's no comparison.”
Manny and Roach are now in Las Vegas to spar in Roach’s Wild Card Gym for 4 weeks. According to Roach, this will be Pacquiao’s last training session before the bout. Pacquiao had a successful training session in Baguio City against a Russian pugilist who
was handpicked by Roach. According to Roach, the Russian was a ‘clone’ of Bradley.
It should be noted here that Bradley is considered among the most difficult fighter to fight with since he has a very unique style. Some analysts and trainers even believe that Bradley uses questionable techniques in the ring. However, Roach and Pacquiao
do not seem to intimidated by Bradley’s style of using his head and shoulders too much.
Some weeks back, Pacquiao stated that if Bradley tries to use his head too much, he (Pacquiao) would counter it with his ferocious punches. Considering Pacquiao’s punching power, one can easily say that he can knockout Bradley is the unbeaten American offers
his head to the Filipino pride.
For now, both men are sparring hard to get ready for the big day.
