Freddie Roach: Juan Manuel Marquez has the most difficult style for Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
Freddie Roach, who is the trainer of eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion) Manny Pacquiao, has admitted Juan Manuel Marquez, who is the current World Boxing Association Super,
World Boxing Organisation and The Ring Lightweight World Champion, is the toughest opponent for Pacquiao.
The Pac-Man, Pacquiao, will meet the Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, in their highly-anticipated trilogy bout on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 51-year-old trainer, who is more commonly known as Master Roach, told the media Marquez is undoubtedly the toughest opponent for Pacquiao, as he said he has a very difficult style of fighting.
“It's a little harder for Manny to do that. There is no question that Marquez has the most difficult style for us,” he said.
Pacquiao and Marquez both met each other back in May 2004 and their fight ended up in a highly controversial draw. There second meeting which came four years later in March 2008 also had a controversial ending, as this time Pacquiao was awarded a split decision.
Therefore, Roach is pretty sure Pacquiao-Marquez 3 will certainly be an explosive fight. Yet Roach, who is one of the most well-known boxing trainers in the world, has picked his fighter over Marquez because he thinks Pacquiao loves exchanging punches.
“It's going to be a helluva fight until it ends because one thing about Marquez is that he will fight. They say he has put on a little bit of muscle and he is getting a little bigger upstairs. It looks like he might want to exchange with us and I hope that
happens. Manny loves it when guys come to him and they're aggressive,” said Roach. “I don't think the fight is going to last six rounds,” Roach said.
Pacquiao is currently rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world whereas Marquez holds the third spot in the pound-for-pound rankings of the world. Thus predicting a winner among these two is a difficult job but let’s see if the Filipino star
can really win against Marquez once again in the ring.
