Freddie Roach: Pacquiao-Bradley will be an action packed fight – Boxing News
Hall of Famer trainer Freddie Roach believes Manny Pacquiao’s title defence fight against Lamont Peterson will be an action packed one. According to Roach, Bradley himself will make the conditions right for a knock out which will make the fight even more
thrilling. Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight title against Timothy Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Freddie Roach, Pac-man’s trainer, had previously said that he is training his fighter to knock Bradley out in the match. Now, after Pacquiao has completed 60% of his training, Roach thinks he is ready to give Bradley one h**l of a time in the ring. He said,
“He'll force Manny to knock him out. I guarantee it will be an all-action fight. He fights just like Hatton with a stronger chin. Not much power. Not much footwork. He's not shifty. One thing – he's never been beaten. He's a tough guy. He'll come forward.
There's no quit in him. He doesn't cut easy. It's his opponents who get cut, because he likes to charge in with his head.”
According to Roach’s predictions, Pacquiao will knock out Bradley in the sixth round. Roach added that a lot of people wonder why Manny Pacquiao wants to fight younger fighters and why not the one of his generations. According to Roach, Pacquiao wants to
prove to the world that he still is the no. 1 pound for pound boxer and so he will face anyone who gets in his way regardless of which generation he belongs to.
Manny Pacquiao is currently training at Roach’s Wild Card Gym. Roach is confident that Manny Pacquiao is good enough to beat any fighter in the world. In his previous interview, after watching Floyd Mayweather beat Miguel Cotto, Freddie Roach stated that
the only fighter who has the ability to beat Floyd Mayweather is Manny Pacquiao. According to Roach, consistent pressure is the key to beat Mayweather and only Pacquiao can do that.
For now, both, Pacquiao and Bradley, are training hard in their respective facilities for the mega-bout that is just a month away.
