Freddie Roach: Pacquiao practising with Marquez’s picture in front of him – Boxing news
Freddie Roach, who is the trainer of eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), has revealed he puts Juan Manuel Marquez’s picture wearing the t-shirt which said he beat Pacquiao
whenever his man hits the speed bag.
“When Manny hits the speed bag I put the picture of him (Marquez) wearing that t-shirt, just to remind Manny,” Roach said.
The 51-year-old trainer Master Roach, who is one of the most well-known boxing trainers in the world, is also pretty satisfied with his fighter’s workout, as he claimed Pacquiao is putting extra effort this time.
“He's really extra motivated in this fight,” Roach said. “He's been a little harder on his sparring partners than usual.”
The Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, who is the current World Boxing Association Super, World Boxing Organisation and The Ring Lightweight World Champion, recently went to Pacquiao’s native country, Philippines, and embarrassed the Filipino star by wearing a t-shirt
saying that he beat Pacquiao in their previous two fights.
Meanwhile, the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao, who holds a record of winning 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, was also asked to share his thoughts.
Pacquiao remarked he cannot wait to get into the ring against Marquez because he believes this is the best opportunity for him to prove himself an overall winner.
“Well, he has the freedom to make some alibis and reasons and complaining that he won the fight. I'm not (upset) at them or Marquez,” Pacquiao said. “But, you know, I'm very motivated for this fight because the question is, what more do I need to prove just
to make them satisfied that I won the fight?”
Pacquiao and Marquez will lock horns in their much-anticipated trilogy bout on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
However, all that is left to see is whether Pacquiao, who is currently rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, is really be able to beat Marquez once again or not.
