Freddie Roach believes Bradley’s defense is flawed – Boxing News
According to Hall of Famer coach Freddie Roach, Timothy Bradley might be strong but his defense his full of flaws. In his recent interview, Roach said that after watching Bradley’s tapes he discovered that Bradley’s defense is flawed and that is where Pacquiao
will take advantage of him.
Roach, who is currently training Pacquiao at his Wild Card Gym, believes it is time for Bradley to lose his first bout. He said, “I have watched a lot of tapes on him and have seen a lot of holes on his defense. We are going to take advantage of them. Yes,
Bradley does come in head first. We have been working on how to nullify that. We have a lefty fighting against a righty. The two heads may clash, that could happen and it’s something we have to be aware of and something we will be prepared for. I have been
watching Bradley a lot and he doesn’t rely very much on counter-punching. He is very offensive. He comes to fight which will make it a good fight for everybody. We have the game plan set after watching many, many tapes of Bradley. Manny should have a very
good fight on June 9.”
Both the teams are quite excited and confident about the fight. While Roach believes that Pacquiao is good enough to knockout Bradley, even Bradley thinks no less of himself. According to the unbeaten American, he has all the skills to beat Manny Pacquiao.
In his recent interview, Bradley said that he is younger and speedier than Pacquiao, which will be his major advantage over the Filipino champion.
Bradley no doubt is a strong fighter, yet his fighting style is not up to par, according to most analysts. In fact, some analysts, trainers and fighters believe that Bradley uses questionable techniques during his fights, especially his head butts and elbows.
However, Pacquiao does not mind his techniques at all. Pacquiao is confident that he will counter Bradley’s vicious elbows and head butts with his ferocious punches. Even Roach has said that Pacquiao will knockout Bradley by hitting him in the head.
