Freddie Roach believes David Haye can see off Wladimir Klitschko with his aggression – Boxing News
Freddie Roach, who is widely known as one of the best boxing trainers in the world, believes the current World Boxing Association’s World Heavyweight Champion, David Haye, can defeat Wladimir Klitschko, if he puts early pressure on his opponent.
Roach told the media that David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye, who will take on the International Boxing Federation’s, International Boxing Organisation’s, World Boxing Organisation’s and Ring Magazine Champion, Wladimir Klitschko on July 2 in a unification bout
for the heavyweight titles at the Hamburg Arena in Germany, can easily see off Klitschko if he starts attacking from the first round.
Freddie ‘Master Roach’ Roach told the media that Haye is a very aggressive fighter and if he lands some good early punches he can take away his opponents pressure. Roach also thinks it would be the best way for Haye to fight against the Ukrainian giant,
Klitschko.
While speaking on to the media, he remarked, "The key to this fight for Haye is to take Wladimir’s confidence away, and do it early. Take him out of his comfort zone. I think Haye has a great opportunity if he goes out there early and uses his power, and
tries to take Wladimir’s confidence away. That’s the best way for him to fight this, but Haye needs to take that window of opportunity.”
In the end the 51-year-old Roach, who currently trains the eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, revealed Klitschko lacks confidence. He commented he knows it, as he has trained him for quite a period of time.
Therefore the Irish-American trainer reckons if the aggressive 30-year-old Haye, who has won 25 of his 26 fights including 23 by the way of a knockout, can easily shrug off the 6ft 5inch Klitschko in one of the biggest fights in boxing history by taking
advantage of the boxers weak points.
“Being forced anywhere outside Wladimir’s comfort zone is his greatest weakness. He does lack confidence as a fighter and we discussed it when I trained him”, said Roach.
All left to see is whether if Haye can really beat Klitschko in front of his home crowd when the highly anticipated bout arrives.
