Freddie Roach predicts Manny Pacquiao will knockout Juan Manuel Marquez – Boxing news
Veteran trainer Freddie Roach has revealed he is expecting his fighter, Manny Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), to win against his Mexican rival Juan
Manuel Marquez by way of a knockout.
Pacquiao was noticed using his left hand more in his previous two bouts with Marquez. However, Freddie ‘Master Roach’ Roach, who is one of the most well known boxing trainers in the world, is working on changing Pacquiao’s style currently, as he wants Pacquiao
to use his right hand more this time.
“I expect Manny to knock that guy out. Manny used to have one hand before and move towards a single direction but Pacquiao is a complete fighter now,” Roach said in a report published in Sun Star on September 26, 2011.
This is the third time Pacquiao and Marquez will be seen taking on each other. Their first bout, which took place back in August 2004 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, ended in a controversial draw. Therefore, both fighters met once again and this time
it was Pacquiao who secured a split decision victory over Pacquiao in yet another controversial ending. Therefore, Roach wants his fighter to clear any doubts.
“That's what I don't want to happen: Manny falling back to what he'd been doing before, especially in their first 2 fights which did not impress many. I don't want a repeat of that,” Roach said.
“Manny fought heavier, bigger opponents after that split decision victory in the second fight. He's stronger, faster and more mature now,” he added.
The current number one pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao, who holds a record of winning 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, will take on Juan Manuel Marquez on November
12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is certainly a huge fight in the sport, as many people think it was Marquez who earlier dominated Pacquiao.
