Freddie Roach reveals Manny Pacquiao is looking to set up Viacheslav Senchenko clash – Boxing news
Freddie Roach, who is the trainer of eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), has revealed his boxer is weighing up the possibility of a fight with the Ukraine Master, Viacheslav
Senchenko, who currently holds the World Boxing Association Welterweight Champion.
Kell Brook was expected to fight Senchenko in 2012 but now his path could be obstructed. Roach has claimed Pacquiao is also thinking of a taking on the unbeaten Ukrainian prospect, Senchenko, who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 31 professional
fights, with 20 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.
The 51-year-old trainer, who is more commonly known as Master Roach, stated Senchenko’s promoters are pretty rich and Pacquiao can have a big payday if he fights him.
“The Ukrainian people haven't seen Manny, and Senchenko’s promoters are very wealthy,” while speaking on his inclusion Roach told the Philippine Star. “His promoters control the coal and metal mines in the country. Manny could fight Senchenko in
Ukraine for a lot of money.”
Though Roach remarked he is not sure if Pacquiao will really go for Senchenko, he said if would want a big payday he will definitely consider of fighting Senchenko.
“In the event they meet, Manny will win easy. I remember legends like Sugar Ray Robinson when in the course of winding up their careers, they would go to fight in different countries and earn big purses. If Manny wants to do that, Ukraine would be a good
destination,” Roach added.
Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao is currently set to take on the current World Boxing Association Super, World Boxing Organisation and The Ring Light Welterweight Champion, Juan Manuel Marquez, in their highly-anticipated trilogy fight on November 12, 2011 at MGM
Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Meanwhile the Desert Storm, Timothy Bradley, who is the current World Boxing Organisation World Light Welterweight Champion, is scheduled to fight Joel Casamayor on Pacquiao-Marquez undercard.
Therefore, many out there are thinking that Bradley is going to be Pacquiao’s next opponent. However, let’s see if Pacquiao really sets up a clash with Senchenko, as it will also be a big fight.
