Freddie Roach reveals Timothy Bradley is not on Manny Pacquiao’s radar – Boxing news
Freddie Roach, who is the trainer of eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World champion (Super Champion) Manny Pacquiao, has revealed that the current World Boxing Organisation World Light Welterweight Champion,
Timothy Bradley, is not on his fighter’s radar for the time being.
He stated Juan Manuel Marquez is the main question for his fighter right now.
The Desert Storm, Bradley, who was stripped off his WBC title due to inactivity and refusing to unify division against the current WBA Super and IBF unified Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan, is scheduled to fight on Pacquiao-Marquez undercard with Joel
Casamayor on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Therefore, many out there are considering him as Pacquiao’s next opponent.
However, Roach has claimed that currently Bradley is not their radar. The 51-year-old trainer, who is also known as Master Roach, in his interview stated Marquez is the only worry for them and Bradley is nowhere in the scene as of yet.
Roach told On the Ropes Boxing Radio, “We have Marquez in front of us right now and that’s all I’m worried about! Timothy Bradley is off the radar! I have no idea who our next opponent is! I want it to be Mayweather, so we’ll leave it at that. Timothy Bradley
is like not a challenge, in my mind at least. But again we have Marquez first, and we’ll take care of that and we’ll go from there.”
In the end, Roach also commented on Pacquiao much-anticipated trilogy bout with the Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, who currently holds the World Boxing Association Super, World Boxing Organisation and The Ring Lightweight World Championship belts.
Roach remarked Pacquiao is not the same old fighter anymore. He said Pacquiao is now equally good with his right hand as he is with his left and thus he does not think Marquez will be able to go the distance this time.
Roach added, “I think Manny’s skills that he has now are going to overwhelming, and I don’t see the fight lasting too long.”
