The Corsican tactician hits out ‘cheaters’, as he believes there was a conspiracy against Stade Rennais. The Rennes-based club saw two of its players being sent-off in the second half that eventually led to the team’s defeat at the Stade Municipal

Stade Rennais have appeared a rejuvenated side this season, following the inclusions of several young players in the squad. The team has appeared to be a whole new side, possessing an ability to bounce back in their games. Following the defeat against OGC
Nice, Frederic Antonetti was left furious, as Les Rouge-et-Noirs eventually lost 1-0 to the hosts.
The game was a tightly-contested encounter between the two sides, as both teams struggled to create chances. However, it was during the second-half that a game changing incident took place. Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik was handed his second yellow card which eventually
led to the Cameroonian being sent-off.
It wasn’t long before another Rennais’ player was shown another red card. This time Yassine Jebbour was sent off, following an unfair tackle in the box. A penalty was awarded to Les Aiglons, which Dario Cvitanich calmly scored, securing all three points
for his team at the Stade Municipal du Ray.
Frederic Antonetti has been left furious following the game, and believes that the two red-cards handed over to his players were a bit too harsh. The Frenchman acknowledged that there wasn’t much to the game prior to the incident, but the cards entirely
changed the scenario. The Corsican said:
“To start with there was a match. We were solid, not creating many chances but not giving many away either. And then there were the two red cards.”
He added:
“We're the team that collects the fewest yellows and the most reds. This evening the cheats won and we left with nothing. Circumstances conspired against us. At nine against 11 we had two shots and they had just one poor chance.”
The tactician went on to highlight the unfair treatment of Rennais’ players, as he believes that there is a conspiracy going on against the Rennes-based club, whose players get sent-off often. The Ligue 1 side was also deprived of two of its players in the
game against Paris Saint-Germain, which Antonetti’s men won eventually.
