The Frenchman was left delighted as Les Rouge-et-Noirs cruised to an easy win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Montpellier-HSC-c39945 in the semi-final of the Coupe de la Ligue, to earn themselves a spot in the Final of the prestigious tournament.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stade-Rennais-FC-c40612 defeated reigning Ligue 1 champions, Montpellier Herault as they booked themselves an encounter against AS Saint-Etienne in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue. The victory was a great achievement for the players, club and fans alike, as
it provides them a huge opportunity to win some silverware this season. Club coach, Frederic Antonetti also expressed his happiness after the well-deserved win, and hopes his team can continue to exhibit such displays in their future games.
Antonetti praised his players, and felt happy for them as the players finally got rewarded for their hard work. The Frenchman believes that the current crop of players is the best he ever had at his disposable, and feels proud of them. The 51-year-old said:
“I'm happy for the players, who put in a lot of effort. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is the most agreeable squad I've coached since joining Stade Rennais.”
The coach also stated his excitement in terms of the club. The Corsican paid homage to the club, stating that Rennes are a club who have a well established reputation, not only in France, but in whole of Europe. The club has one of the best youth academies
around the world, and the skill and determination exhibited by the players in the game against La Paillade, Is just another demonstration of it. The coach exclaimed:
“I'm happy for the club, one that deserves respect. Rennes have had a big role in French football in the last 15 years, always there of thereabouts, even if the club hasn't gone all the way.”
Antonetti also thanked the fans for their consistent supporter, for without them, the club would not be where they are today. He said:
“I'm happy too for the supporters, because we're here to make them happy. We were strong in this game and we needed to be.”
Last but not the least, the tactician also held a great deal of respect for the opponents. The coach went on to state that it was a good and exciting game between the two sides, with the best side among two winning the right to appear in the final at the

“Montpellier aren't champions of France for nothing. It was a very good match, a very intense match.”
