The SC Bastia coach laments the loss against Paris Saint-Germain, but is pleased with his players’ positive attitude
I Turchini were thrashed by the cash-laden club from Paris on Saturday, and the Bastia coach is disappointed to be at the receiving end of such an humiliating defeat.
It was not a good time for the newly promoted club to host Les Parisiens with Carlo Ancelotti’s side in tremendous form at the moment. Bastia became their latest victim on Saturday, when PSG thrashed I Lioni di Furiani 4-0 at Stade Armand Cesari on Saturday.
Bastia coach, Frederic Hantz is not happy with the result, but has praised his players for putting in a good performance against a team like Paris Saint-Germain.
While talking to reporters, the 46-year-old stated that his players played with true fighting spirit and the result was really harsh. Backing the tactics he used against the capital club, Hantz said that Paris Saint-Germain played really well and he will
use the same tactics again if he has to.
“I'm disappointed for the players; they gave everything on the pitch. But if I had to play the match again, I'd go with the same tactics and game play.”
PSG’s summer arrival, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 was once again the key players for the visitors, scoring couple of brilliant goals at Stade Armand Cesari. And Frederic Hantz feels that Les Parisiens’ first goal was daunting for players’ morale but they did well
in the first half.
“The first goal from Paris Saint-Germain floored out strategy, but still the players remained lucid for the first 45 minutes.”
Praising his players, the coach said that Bastia were impressive in the game but things didn’t go their way, and there are a lot of areas where I Turchini need to improve if they want to survive the relegation battle and stay in the top flight.
“At times, we managed to get hold of the game, but there are a lot of things working against us at the moment."
SC Bastia will travel to Stade Municipal http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Du-c11689 Ray this Saturday, to take on OGC Nice in their next game of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign.
