Frederick Bousquet grabs Men’s 50m butterfly title: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Frederick Bousquet of CN Marseille grabbed gold medal of the Men’s 50m butterfly on last day of the 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Sunday, November 18.
Bousquet lived up to the expectations of his supporters in the shortest butterfly discipline and proved his eligibility for the crown. He showed no mercy to his opponents from the start and reached the finishing wall for the title.
With his commendable pace, Bousquet remained half a body length ahead of his following swimmer and surfaced on the finishing wall for gold medal with an effort of 22.57 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Jeremy Stravius of Amiens Metropole Nat., who was 0.46 seconds slower and ended his race in a time of 23.03 seconds.
The silver medallist was chased by Rafael Munoz Perez of CN Marseille, who was 0.12 seconds apart and occupied third position of the race by producing a time of 23.15 seconds.
Fourth position of the event was obtained by Romain Sassot of Lyon Natation, who stayed 0.26 seconds apart and ended his race in a time of 23.41 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Mehdy Metella of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who stayed 0.06 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and reached the finishing wall for fifth position by posting an effort of 23.47 seconds.
Metella was followed by Romain Magula of CN Marseille, who was 0.52 seconds slower from his former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 23.99 seconds for sixth place.
Subsequently, Magula was followed by William Meynard of CN Marseille, who was 0.07 seconds away from his foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing wall for seventh position by clocking an effort of 24.06 seconds.
Eighth spot of the event was obtained by Matthias Bellance of Longvilliers Club, who stayed 0.29 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and hit the wall with a timing of 24.35 seconds.
In addition, Bousquet was happy with his title claiming effort in the butterfly discipline and articulated that he would continue his hard work in order to accomplish the same in future events.
