Frederik Nielsen, Greg Ouellette move into quarterfinals at Rimouski Challenger

Frederik Nielsen vs. Michael McClune
Danish Frederik Nielsen outplayed American Michael McClune in the second round of Rimouski Challenger Tour. Frederik blew away his opponent in two straight sets 6-1, 6-2 to assure his attendance at the quarter finals of Rimouski
Challenger at Rimouski, Canada. The Dane completed his victory in just 44 minutes.
Delivering their first meeting on court, McClune did not have a good start to the match as he lost the opening set 1-6. McClune hit 63 per cent of the first serves, winning meager 33 per cent of the points on them. However, the
Dane was far better than his opponent in this domain as he hit 2 aces and won 85 percent of the first serves. Nielsen saved one of the two break points he faced in the opening set.
The second set was all-Nielsen show. After winning the first set to his lower ranked opponent, the Danish was in full from, breaking McClune in the eighth game.
The second set saw the Dane landing 86 per cent of the first serves managing a 78 per cent win on it. His opponent was not strong as far as conversion of first serves into points was concerned, recording a meager 56 per cent figure.
The Dane was able to wrap up an easy 6-2 victory for himself in the final set.
Greg Ouellette vs. Philip Bester
American Greg Ouellette ousted Canadian Philip Bester, a seventh seeded in the second round of Rimouski Challenger. Greg outplayed his opponent in three straight sets 6(4)-7, 7-6(8), and 6-4 to qualify for the quarterfinals at
Rimouski, Canada. The American enlisted his win in a tough battle of two hours and forty two minutes.
Given their first meeting on court, The American did not start very well as he lost the first set 6(4)-7. He hit 50 per cent of the first serves, winning 77 percent of points on them. However, the American was outstanding than
his contender in the conversion rate, as he hit 3 aces and won a whopping 82 percent of the first serves.
The second set was moreover the same but this time Ouellette took the set 7-6(8). The Canadian played phenomenally in the second set as he landed with 14 aces and won a whopping 92 percent of his first serves. On the other hand
Ouellette landed with just 3 aces and won 77 percent of his first serves a lot lower than his opponent’s. But the American managed to save 80 per cent of his break points which gave with the edge he needed to take the match away.
Carrying his winning momentum, the final set saw the American landing 51 percent of the first serves managing 86 percent win on it. This time Ouellette saved 100 per cent of the breakpoints compared to his opponent’s meager 67
per cent.
The American was able to wrap up a 6-4 victory in the final set.
Nielsen and Ouellette are going to meet in the quarterfinals of Rimouski Challenger for their first ever official head-to-head.
