VfB Stuttgart’s Sporting Director Fredi Bobic has blasted Bayern Munich winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 for getting overdramatic and has criticised poor refereeing.
The former German international claimed that players like Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery will wait for the opposition players to come in for the tackle and look for fouls, which is wrong. He was left furious when defender Cristian
Molinaro was wrongly given the marching orders in the first-half after replays showed that he got the ball.
Stuttgart suffered another defeat at home making it a total of six losses this season, the most in the top seven. They took an early lead through midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Gentner-c9080 but two goals from Mario Gomez later in the match took
the match away from the home side.
Bobic claimed that Robben and Ribery sometimes become overdramatic in their reactions after a foul and instigate the referee to make a booking. The chief insisted that the player’s sending off changed the game for Stuttgart as
they were dominating proceedings in the first-half but were ten men against eleven in the second-half.
He stated that it would have been a fair game if the defender was on the pitch and the teams competed but was unhappy with the actions of some of the Bayern players who played their part in the second yellow card, pressurising
the referee.
“World-class players like Robben or even (Franck) Ribery like to wait for such situations. Referees are not corrupt, but they do have respect for such players and I can understand that, but the referee fell for it here. If Robben
had not been so dramatic, then there would not have been a yellow card,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Sporting Director insisted that the quality of refereeing should improve in the Bundesliga and the officials should not favour the big clubs so that the quality is maintained.
“I was not pleased with the way he has refereed this game. Everybody has a bad day, but today he was so quick to show a yellow card and I didn't like that,” he concluded.
Stuttgart will next face Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday.
