Free Agency – Top unrestricted free agents in NBA this off-season (Part-2)
Jason Richardson
The dynamic shooting guard Jason Richardson is one of the top unrestricted free agents in the market this off-season who was traded to Orlando Magic from Phoenix Suns in the middle of the 2010-2011 season.
Richardson played 55 games in Magic’s uniform in which he averaged an all-time low 13.9 points per game. However, it doesn’t means that the 30 year old Richardson’s numbers dipping down substantially is a sign of his downfall.
Two-time NBA Slam Dunk Champions Jason still has several athletic seasons left in his career and he can definitely run the offensive system for any team. Richardson is an outstanding parameter shooter which enables him to change
the course of the game at any point. At the same time, Jason is a decent performer on the defence which escalates a bigger threat for the opposition.
While many teams will be hoping to sign the NBA superstar Jason including Orlando Magic, Richardson is very clear to decide his future shift. Jason wants to be in a team where he can fulfil his dream of an NBA title and stay there
until the retirement.
“I want to go to a great place for my family. I’ve been blessed by God to play in the NBA for a lot of money. I’d like to go someplace that has a chance to win a championship. I probably have five or six seasons left in the NBA,
so I want to go somewhere I can stay. Trades are part of the NBA, but I’d like to finish off my career in one place with a chance to win a championship.” Richardson said.
Jason Richardson’s conditions don’t rule out Orlando Magic from the contention as the franchise has one of the best centres Dwight Howard on the roster. Orlando can make a significant difference in the next season by playing a
complete season with Jason and digging up another prolific player to reinforce the supporting cast around the two superstars.
Shannon Brown
Michigan State University’s superstar Shannon Brown has played five seasons in NBA and has yet to prove himself as a prolific shooting guard in the professional league.
The 25-year-old Brown was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2006 NBA Draft with 25th overall pick. At the star of his career, Shannon failed to earn reasonable playing minutes which hampered him to post
an impressive performance.
During the 2008-2009 season, Shannon joined Los Angeles Lakers after being traded to Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Bobcats. In the last season in Lakers uniform, Shannon posted his best scoring performance with an average of 8.7
points per game. The young shooting guard Brown decided to exercise his option to terminate his final year with the Los Angeles Lakers to become an unrestricted free agent. Brown thought that it was the best time for him to experience the free agency and his
agent Mark Bartelstein supported Shannon.
Looking at the young talent in the free agency market, who can spark the NBA teams with their agility and athleticism, Brown will a name in the minds of many franchises. Although Shannon Brown career stats are not very impressive
however his game-play suggests that he can put up a lot more points.
