Question:

Free Credit Report help?

The other day I went on to Freecreditreport.com and signed up and all but, I'm an NY resident and it said something about that. Does anyone know if I'm going to get charged?

it said exactly this under the privacy policy notice:

"Due to New York state law restrictions, the Triple Advantage Guarantee cannot be offered to residents of New York."

So does this mean I won't get charged because I'm an NY resident?

  1. I would not have signed up on that site.  They just want to sell you something.  If you have questions about their products, you should ask them about it.

    Good luck.

PS: official FREE credit report website is: annualcreditreport.com

They don't try to sell you anything there and you get the free annual copy of your credit report from the three major reporting companies.

  2. No, it doesn't mean you won't get charged.  The Triple Advantage Guarantee or Card Safe program is a $50,000 guarantee that you're not liable for any unauthorized charges if your card is lost or stolen.

This program does not apply to New York residents.

So, you should cancel and get your reports from annualcreditreport.com.  It's 100% Free - No credit card or registration required.

  3. call and cancel ASAP.

Annualcreditreport.com is the real free site to view your credit report....NOT freecreditport.com....but people don't know any better because of all those dumb commercials.
