Free Government Grants for real?

Are those government grants for real? They give money out for free? How hard are they to get? Just curious after reading a bunch of them online.

The government gives lots of real grants - to lower levels of government, and to charitable organizations.  To individuals, rarely if ever except for grants for higher education.

There are tons of scammers out there, many on the internet, who claim that they can get you a grant.  They're scams.

They appear frequently in my Spam box,however, they are spam.

Government Grants are real.

Government Grants to individuals to pay off bills or debts are not.

The places that say that there are "personal grants" are just trying to sell you something.
