Free Range Eggs vs Cage Eggs ???

Just curious. I buy Free Range Eggs simply because of ethical issues. Is there any difference in eggs themselves though? I mean the chickens get fed the same stuff but one gets more exercise than the other. so does that make any difference to eggs?? just curious, hope the question doesnt sound too silly!!!

  1. Free range are definitely more tasty and the yolks are more into orange-coloured instead of washed-out yellow and, of course, the ethical issues.  Have you ever seen  battery hens???  Would turn you off eggs for life and I love eggs.  Not silly question at all and in fact I've given you a star for bringing it up.

  2. All chickens eat there own c**p.

The color of the yolk depends on what the chicken eats, not how far it walks.

Which is not very far even for so called "free range".

Penned chickens eat less of their own and other chicken c**p because it falls through the bottom of the cage. Therefore the eggs are better.

  3. true free range chickens eat more bugs and fresh greens.

Most free range chickens are just let out in to a barren compound and get the same feed as battery hens.

Kind of like convicts in the exercise yard.

True free range eggs have more vitamins and stuff.

Between battery and jail bird eggs there is no difference

  4. not silly. free range are more tasty.... FACT

  5. free range is bter cuz the chicken isnt stressed, cuz its more content running round, whereas caged is 10+ chicken in one cage eating shitting n laying in the same pen, making them more stressed go free range, more expensive but better quality  and no guilt
