Go to the couch surfing web site, if what you want is for a few nights. You have to be able to offer a couch when you get back to your own country.

If you are looking for soemthing a little longer, check out the notice boards on places like the American Church (along the river bank from the Eiffel Tower). You will find things like a room in exchange for a couple of evenings of babysitting a week
