Free agent A.J. Pierzynski to meet Texas Rangers – MLB Update
News is coming in the media that former Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski soon will be meeting with Texas Rangers’ management to discuss his chances to sign with them.
Pierzynski, free agent last played for the Chicago White Sox in the recent past Major League Baseball season. During the 2012 Major League competition, the 14-year MLB experienced Pierzynski showed some spirited performances and earned great appreciation
from many baseball experts.
His overall numbers remained consistent throughout the season on .278 hitting average along with 27 homers, 77 RBIs and .326 OBP. Not only in the past season, but Pierzynski has been playing quite consistently throughout his career. His career stats are
also consistent at .284 hitting average along with 155 home runs, 730 RBIs and .324 OBP.
Now since he has filed for free agency, several teams have already shown their great interest to sign him for a multiyear deal. White Sox too have tried to re-sign him, but Pierzynski’s agent did not agree to new terms.
The White Sox on the other hand still hopeful on their chances to play a thrilling season in 2013. "You can't look at it as a complete roster, You're down here, you see what kind of phone calls are coming in, asking for guys, and you have to explore those
options, whether you like them or not,” White Sox manager Robin Ventura said recently.
Later their GM Rick Hahn said, “Our goal is by Opening Day to have the best combination of talent that gives us a chance to win the most ballgames, If that's a result of deals that happen while we are in Nashville, then great. If it requires us to take the
information gathered here back to Chicago and choose a path that comes to fruition in the coming weeks, that's fine, too."
Coming on to Pierzynski, the Rangers are lately looking quite optimistic to sign his. The experienced catcher is also scheduled to meet the Rangers’ front office. Though many say that Rangers will sign Pierzynski but still this is early to predict anything
as many other teams also want him to sign with them.
