Free agent Mark Buehrle meets Florida Marlins’ manager Ozzie Guillen – MLB News
After becoming a free agent, left-hander Mark Buehrle is all set to play with another potential team in Major League Baseball. Recently, he met with the Florida Marlins’ manager Ozzie Guillen to explore his chances with the Florida Marlins.
Buehrle, who has played his entire career with the Chicago White Sox, is now ready to make another run to win the World Series with a different team.
Last week, Mark Buehrle’s agent Jeff Berry also told the reporters as his client is ready to play for any team in the Major League.
Berry said, “Mark is not going to eliminate any team from free-agent consideration, but having pitched 12 years in the American League, the National League certainly will have some appeal to him. There is no DH. It’s obviously less of a hitter’s league.
And Mark has had great success in his career against the National League.”
On the other hand, the Marlins are looking desperate to include some potential free agents in their roster in order to strengthen the young team. For this, the Marlins’ top management has given the responsibility to their new manager Ozzie Guillen to sign
some good free agents that will eventually provide some stability to the Marlins especially for the next season. It has been reported that the Marlins are also pursuing former New York Mets’ short-stop Jose Reyes, who became a free agent during the offseason
and is now looking to start-out with another team.
Coming back to Buehrle’s recent meeting with the Marlins, some reports are coming that the meeting was somewhat successful and especially Guillen looked quite hopeful for the potential arrival of the former White Sox star pitcher. Buehrle was also very happy
to visit the Marlins and their new ballpark. According to some baseball experts, this is high time for Buehrle to make a decision on his future professional baseball career.
Buehrle has earned a great name with the White Sox and since his contract with the White Sox has expired, he must decide within days which franchise will be the most beneficial for him in future.
