Free agent QB Vince Young’s workout impresses Buffalo Bills, deal seems on cards-NFL News
Free agent quarterback, Vince Young, may potentially land in Buffalo, following his workout for the team on Wednesday, May 02, 2012, which impressed the players and coaches alike.
Bills’ wide receiver, David Nelson, who was at the receiving end of Young’s throws at the team’s facility, has spoken highly of Young's skills and talent.
Young has visited a team for the first time since his release by Philadelphia Eagles after expiration of his one-year contract with them, and it is quite likely that he would sign a deal with Bills.
Nelson said:
"He looked good. Big guy. Physical and aggressive. He's in shape. He's definitely in shape working out and working hard."
The QB was not re-signed by Eagles and since becoming an unrestricted free agent, he has been exploring the opportunity of moving elsewhere in the league, without much success till now.
It was not clear if the player had flown out of Buffalo after the workout and a couple of sections of the media quoted anonymous sources, claiming the player might delay his departure to potentially weigh the deal's formalities.
However, some commentators cautioned the team management, arguing the player’s performance alone cannot be satisfactory enough to qualify him for the signing.
They said it will be even more crucial to see how the QB fits in the team’s overall offence scheme.
The situation is expected to become clearer within the next couple of days and if the player still stays in Buffalo, as has been speculated by certain members of the football community, he is most likely to sign a contract with the team before leaving Bills'
headquarters.
Again, it is expected to be a short-term solution for the player. It will be difficult for him to win a deal exceeding a year. Still, he can utilise the time and space with Bills to prove his worth in the team and overall in NFL.
This should also help him find a stable and permanent contract solution.
