Free agent right-hander Matt Lindstrom agreed to terms with Chicago White Sox – MLB Update
The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with the right hander free agent relief pitcher Matt Lindstrom who last played for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2012 Major League Baseball season.
This is a great sign for the White Sox as they put some more fire power in the bullpen by signing Lindstrom. Lindstorm signed a one year deal but his deal is still pending a physical. However, on the whole, it is quite sure that Lindstrom will get a potential chance to represent the Chicago White Sox in the next big event.
Lindstrom played wonderfully in the last MLB outing as he secured good numbers throwing at 2.68 ERA along with 40 strikeouts and 1.26 WHIP. He has also achieved good numbers at career throwing average of 3.64 along with 45 saves, 263 strikeouts and 1.41 WHIP.
Recently the White Sox authorities are not just thinking to add pitchers but they are also showing optimism that in the coming days, they will also add some extra hitting power.
“We made no secret that it would be nice to have the left-handed bat in there for (manager) Robin (Ventura) to deploy when it made sense, but we just don’t want to get a guy to say he’s a left-handed if he’s not a better option, We have (Dewayne) Wise or (Jordan) Danks off the bench in the outfield and (Hector) Gimenez is a switch hitter at (backup) catcher," Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said.
He added with more detail and explained different aspects of the potential possibilities, "We're always looking for ways to get better and improve, Being so right-handed has the potential to be an issue, but given the issue of right-handed pitchers vs. right-handed hitters.”
Many in the league and within the White Sox roster believe that the way Chicago side is capitalising on opportunities is certainly a great sign for their growth as a Major League Baseball franchise. The upcoming season will not be an easy one but if the White Sox’s direction remains positive, the outcome will certainly bring many good possibilities for them.
