Free agent safety Yeremiah Bell seeks to move elsewhere after Miami Dolphins’ snub-NFL News
Former Miami Dolphins' safety, Yeremiah Bell, who has become an unrestricted free agent and is almost certain on not returning to the Miami Dolphins, has started exploring the opportunity of moving elsewhere in the league.
He was hopeful about his comeback to his former side, off the free agency until last week when Dolphins opted to recruit safety, Tyrell Johnson, instead of him.
Johnson's signing ruined Bell’s entire future plans and now he is waiting for a potential suitor to take him off the free agency.
Recently, the player has been linked to the possible move to the New York Jets, but nothing has come out as concrete offer and all the talk around the potential signing remains in the air.
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has confirmed the approach from Jets, but admitted it remains limited to initial contact only. No further progress has been reported between the two parties, but the possibility of formal round of negotiations in future cannot
be overruled.
Some reports earlier also confirmed a similar approach had come from the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
All the interests are described to be the initial contacts from managers of those teams and there is nothing as a formal offer from them.
This leaves Bell very much available on the free agency, and it is turning out to be the most frustrating time for the player, given the reason that he did not foresee arising of the current situation due to planned returning to the Dolphins.
Now, there is very little chance that Dolphins reconsider him in future given the reason that they had already opted for another safety.
According to some analysts, there can be a possibility of his re-signing if the team does not have a cap issue as such and is eager to go for extra spending.
It is going to depend on their draft situation. It is yet to be seen how much they intend to allocate for the draft signings.
The 2012 NFL draft is due from April 26 to 28, and Dolphins, just like other teams around the league, are weighing their options thoroughly.
The management has recently hosted an exclusive workout for draft QB, Brock Osweiler, in Miami and he remains at the forefront of their draft agenda.
It is not clear whether the management would be successful in its efforts as the player also worked out for Denver Broncos and might be attracted to join them.
Dolphins have already lost on the race for another QB, former Indianapolis Colts’ star QB, Peyton Manning, to Broncos, and Dolphins must be hoping it does not happen to them again in the case of Osweiler.
