Free agents next year........?

Question

Hank steinbrenner has said that the yankees are going to try and go after sabathia and sheets. since money is no problem do you think they'd really go after both?

could you imagine the yankees with Sheets, Sabathia, Wang, Joba, and mussina.

who do you see sabathia and sheets ending up on next year?

I think anything is possible with the Yankees and free agents. However, my best guess is that they will sign Sheets for a big contract. I could see Ben in pin stripes and would probably be even better because he likes the big stage. As far as Sabathia, I think he might actually stay in Milwaukee. When they first completed the trade, I thought he would be gone at years end, but now that he is enjoying a lot of success there, as well as hitting well, I think he could stay for the right price.

The Brewers are going to retain one of these guys, and it looks like itll be Sheets, who will come at a cheaper price.  Sabathia will end up with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Don't forget that AJ Burnett is in the mix too - he'd also be a solid addition and is used to the demands of the AL East.  As far as Sabathia and Sheets, I could see the Yankees getting CC.  He's a workhorse, he wants the money, and Hank is willing to pay.  I'd be less sure about Sheets - he's been hurt so much, and the Yankees are finally getting rid of Pavano.  I don't think they're ready to roll the dice again.  I know there was some talk of Houston eying him.

Honestly I see AJ burnett in New York before those other guys (assuming he opts out of his contract as expected)

Red Sox - Can't count 'em out.  They'll probably at least check in.

Angels - I think they'll be in the mix; Garland is a free agent and Escobar has question marks.

Mets - They seem more likely to go after Mark Teixeira, though they could lose Pedro and Oliver Perez after this year.

they yankees arent getting sabathia and sheets. its so annoying how the yankees just buy everyone good off the market and then become good. im glad it didnt work this year. sabathia could stay with the brewers or maybe go to the cubs or a team in california. i couldnt see sheets going anywhere except for milwaukee
