Free alternative to norton anti-virus ?

my free 90 day trial is about to expire and i really really need anti-virus so could somebody tell me a free ,safe , easy to use anti virus ?

i use avast.its free.my computer runs so much better since i got rid of norton.

Tried panda but it slowed so much of my pc up.  now use AVG for anti-viral. zone alarm as a firewall and mailwasher as a spam filter.

Get the free trial and just dont register, you wont get updates but their not vital as the firewall will catch almost anything! =]

I have used both AVG and AVAST and I preferred AVG
